[origin: EP1457637A2] A door or a window has an inner frame and a plastic outer frame (10) that is attached by suitable fixtures to the surrounding brickwork. The inwards-directed profile of the outer frame has an essentially U-shaped channel (34) that accommodates a matching metal profiled insert (36). The ratio of the U-shaped channel (34) height to width is between 1:2 and 2:1.
