Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a fuel rail system (100) for an internal combustion engine, and in particular to a fuel rail having crash-resistant protecting structure. The fuel rail system (100) comprises an elongate moulded plastic material fuel rail (106), the fuel rail having at least one fuel inlet (110), and at least one fuel outlet (122) outlet for supplying fuel to the engine. The system (100) comprises additionally a moulded plastic barrier (113), the barrier extending along the length of the fuel rail (106) and having at least one bar (116) spaced laterally from the fuel rail (106). The or each bar (116) is joined to the fuel rail (106) by at least two webs (118) of moulded plastic material that extend diagonally between the fuel rail (106) and the or each bar (116). <IMAGE>
