[origin: FR2834105A1] The invention concerns a method for managing storage of coins of different values in a magazine (28), comprising, for each coin to be stored: a step of receiving (100) and identifying the coin; a step of determining (116) whether the coin should be stored in the magazine (28) or in a chest (34). The invention is characterized in that it comprises a step which consists in periodically calculating (112) the maximum number of coins of each value capable of being stored in the magazine (28), and if the number of coins of same value as the received coin which are present in the magazine (28) is less than the maximum number of coins of said value capable of being stored in the magazine (28), then the coin is stored in the magazine (28), otherwise, the coin is stored in the chest (34).
[origin: FR2834105A1] The coin storage (20) sorts coins as they are inserted (22) into the machine, and transfers the coins either to a stack (28) of storage drums (32) or into a bulk container (34). The number of coins of each denomination needed in the machine is calculated, and if the number of coins of a denomination held in the machine is less than the maximum, an incoming coin is added to the drum storage.
