Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1460014A1] A sheet is initially folded into 16 pages, in several stages. The sheet (11) is folded along a central line (21) extending at right angles to direction of feed (30), forming a 4-page sheet (12). This sheet is then folded along a line (26), which extends in feed direction, forming an 8-page sheet (13), and this in turn is folded along a line (27a,b) extending in feed direction, forming a 16-page sheet (14). This sheet is compressed and turned into a conveying direction (31), which extends mainly at 90[deg] to the feed direction. It is then folded along its center line (22a,b), to form a 32-page sheet. The folding appliance consists of a buckle folder, two plow folders, a small press, a turning table, and a knife folder, working in that sequence.
