[origin: WO03037132A2] The invention relates to a water-tight zipper, whereby the zipper comprises rows of teeth which may be brought to engage with each other, arranged on zipper strips. The teeth comprise pairs of engaging elements and an engaging element is arranged both above and below the plane of the zipper strip, for hooking to a corresponding engaging element on the opposing row of teeth. Sealing lips run between the pairs of engaging elements along the front edge of the zipper strips in the plane thereof. The sealing lips on both rows of teeth lie sealed against each other when the zipper is closed. A zipper slider is provided which may be run along the rows of teeth between an end stop in the open position and a dock in the closed position of the zipper. The slider has a wedge for opening the rows of teeth, flanks for closing the rows of teeth and an upper and a lower plate, between which the rows of teeth run. The wedge connects both plates together and the flanks are arranged on the upper and/or lower plate. The dock is provided with sealing means for the slider and is comprised at least partly of extended sealing lips and seals in the shape of a horseshoe, surrounding a wedge region of the dock, moulded above and below the above and on the front region of the zipper strips.

The sealing lips (27) on both rows of teeth (2, 2') lie sealed against each other when the zipper is closed. A zipper slider (3) is provided which may be run along the rows of teeth (2, 2') between an end stop (5) in the open position and a dock (4) in the closed position of the zipper. The slider (3) has a wedge (10) for opening the rows of teeth (2, 2'), flanks for closing the rows of teeth and an upper and a lower plate (7, 8), between which the rows of teeth (2, 2') run. The wedge (10) connects both plates (7, 8) together and the flanks are arranged on the upper and/or lower plate (7, 8).
