Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03061317A2] Disclosed is a voltage regulator for an electronic device, supplying a regulated output voltage from an input voltage. Said output voltage is connected to an electronic subsystem of the electronic device, which is to be supplied with energy. The inventive regulator comprises a control element receiving the input voltage, a capacitor located at the output of the regulator, which is regularly charged by the input voltage and regularly supplies the charge thereof to the electronic subsystem of the electronic device when said electronic subsystem requires energy. The capacitor is parallel connected to an negative feedback network which removes part of the voltage and supplies a given amount of the output voltage (Vout) to the control element. Said negative feedback network comprises at least two transistors, a voltage comparator, and a switch located between the output of the comparator and the input of the control element. A switch is inserted into the negative feedback network between the input thereof and the first transistor, said switch being in an open position when the electronic subsystem requires no energy.
