The lamp has a quartz-glass discharge vessel (1) with an interior (10) enclosed by an ionizable filling. The vessel has a sealed-off end (11) and provided with a current feed through (2). The feed through is connected to an electrode (4). The electrode protrudes into the interior of the vessel and has a section (41) that extends into the sealed-off end. The section is provided with a ruthenium-containing coating (410).

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Entladungslampe, insbesondere eine Hochdruckentladungslampe mit einem Entladungsgefäß (1), das mindestens ein abgedichtetes, mit einer Stromdurchführung (2) versehenes Ende (11) aufweist. Erfindungsgemäß ist der sich in das abgedichtete Ende (11) erstreckende Abschnitt (41) der Elektrode (4) mit einer Beschichtung (410) versehen, die ein hochschmelzendes Metall aus der Gruppe der Platinmetalle, vorzugsweise Ruthenium, enthält. <IMAGE>
