[origin: WO03059597A1] The invention relates to a method for controlling the shrink behavior of plastic materials during primary shaping in the production of a plastic shell, especially a bearing shell for a socket joint. A liquefied plastic material is introduced between an inner mold (3) and an outer mold (2) to be solidified therein, the plastic material being partially fixed (4a, 4b, 4c) to the outer mold (2) during solidification. The inventive method is preferably suitable for use in a device for controlling the shrink behavior of plastic materials during primary shaping, which device comprises a casting tool that receives at least one outer mold (2) and one inner mold (3) inserted therein. The liquefied plastic material (1) to be shaped is introduced between the mold parts (2, 3). Means for fixing the liquid plastic material (1) are configured on the outer mold (2).
