Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1466650A1] The safety line for a steeplejack has a cable (2) tensioned between two anchors (3,4) and the line is fixed at one end to a slide on the cable and at the other end to a safety harness for the user. The cable or line has a damper (7) with elastic springs acting against traction loads on the cable or line. Catches hold the springs in a deformed condition up to a predetermined effort, at which the springs can return to their initial condition.
