[origin: EP1466850A2] Sheet feeder has first and second sheet separator, whereby first (7) and second (8) sheet separators have separate drives assigned to them. A control unit controls drives so that they are synchronized with downstream processing machines. Control unit compares actual position of front of a sheet compared with a desired position and for changing the position using one of the conveying suction carriers (13.1, 13.2) assigned to each of the drives.
