[origin: WO03060246A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for locking a covering grate (2) to drainage channels (3). The aim of the invention is to be able to fix the grate to the drainage channels in a secure manner, using simple means. To this end, at least one journal (6) or connecting part, which is downwardly oriented and projects past the edge contour of the grate (2) in the position of use, is formed on each longitudinal side of the grate (2); the front region (5) of the channel (3) comprises a niche-type recess (12) in the engagement site of the journal (6) or connecting part; an essentially h-shaped head profile (4) protecting the front region (5) comprises a notch in said region, said notch being used as an engagement opening (11); and the journal (6) or connecting part is provided with a leaf spring (10) which, in the engagement position, rests against the lower side (4a) of the notched edge profile (4) in a blocking manner.
