[origin: WO2004063547A1] Common rail injection systems (1) for motor vehicles present the problem that, for a defined quantity of fuel to be injected, not only the pressure, but also the temperature of the fuel must be taken into account. The fuel temperature is difficult to detect using an installed temperature sensor. The invention relates to a method and a device for determining the temperature (T) from the pressure (P) measured by the pressure sensor (4) and the sound velocity (V) of a pressure wave created during the injection.
