[origin: WO03063514A1] The invention relates to a method for synchronizing two digital data flows with identical content, consisting of the following steps: a) at least two characteristic numbers which express at least one characteristic parameter of the content are generated at given intervals for each of the two digital data flows S1 and S2; b) points D1 and D2 which represent at least one of said characteristic parameters in an at least two-dimensional space are generated from said numbers for each of the two flows S1 and S2. Point D1 corresponds to flow S1 while point D2 corresponds to flow S2. Said points are located in a chronological range T defining paths that are representative of data flows S1 and S2 which are to be synchronized; c) the chronological ranges of duration T assigned to the digital data flows S1 and S2 are offset from each other by calculating an overlay criterion of said paths, an optimal value of which represents the targeted synchronization; d) said offset between the chronological ranges, which corresponds to said optimal value, is selected as the value which is representative of the synchronization.
