Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1468795A2] Device (11) for cutting pieces of wood, especially long pieces into shorter pieces or firewood, comprises a frame chassis (12) for holding the long pieces and consisting of U-shaped holding elements (16) separated by free regions for saw cuts. The frame can be transferred from a sawing position about a pivot axis into an unloading position. Preferred Features: A hand-held motor saw is used to separate the long pieces of wood. At least one arm (28) of the U-shaped holding element forms a bearing surface in the unloading position. The pivot axis lies within a frame of the chassis.
