Composition suitable as leveling agent comprises (wt.%) (a) 10-25% benzyl benzoate and 30-55 % combination of (b) reaction product of optionally substituted phenol with alkylene oxide in 1:(1-4) molar ratio and (c) an ester of (b) with optionally substituted benzoic acid, where the substituents in both cases are halogen, hydroxyl, 1-4 carbon alkoxy, amino (NH2) and/or nitro. An independent claim is also included for production of the composition by preparing the reaction product (b) and ester (c) in a 1-pot reaction and then mixing with benzyl benzoate.

Beschrieben wird eine Zusammensetzung, die als Egalisiermittel geeignet ist, umfassend (a) 10 Gew.-% bis 25 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, Benzylbenzoat; (b) Umsetzungsprodukt von unsubstituiertem oder mit Halogen, OH, C1-C4-Alkoxy, NH2 und/oder NO2 substituiertem Phenol mit Alkylenoxid im Molverhältnis 1:1 bis 1:4 und (c) Ester des Umsetzungsproduktes (b) mit unsubstituierter oder mit Halogen, OH, C1-C4-Alkoxy, NH2 und/oder NO2 substituierter Benzoesäure, wobei das Umsetzungsprodukt (b) und dessen Ester (c) zusammen in einer Menge von 30 Gew.-% bis 55 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Zusammensetzung, vorliegen. Ferner wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser Zusammensetzung und deren Verwendung als Egalisiermittel beschrieben.
