[origin: WO03063672A1] Disclosed is a toilet, particularly for public use, comprising a toilet bowl which is provided with an interior space receiving excrements, a toilet seat which lies on the upper side of the toilet bowl, has an opening in the area above the interior space of the toilet bowl, and is pivotable into a cleaning position which is raised from the toilet bowl, and a cleaning device by means of which a cleaning fluid and/or hot air is applied to the toilet seat. The toilet seat is provided with an inner apron which extends into the interior space of the toilet bowl as well as around the entire circumference of the toilet seat opening and at least partly covers the inner surface of the side walls of the interior space of the toilet bowl. As an option, the toilet seat is provided with an outer apron covering at least part of the outer surfaces of the toilet bowl.
