[origin: WO03063973A1] The invention relates to an alpine ski with an elongate ski body (1) forming a base (5), a mounting (7), disposed on the upper face of the ski body (1) and firmly linked therewith, for mounting a binding, and at least one upper sheet element (11), mounted on the ski body (1), extending longitudinally along the ski body (1) and receiving pressure forces. The ends of said upper sheet element (11) are supported on the ski body (1) and the upper sheet element is mounted so as to be movable between its ends relative to the ski body (1). The upper sheet element is adapted to elastically deform by flexural buckling under the impact of pressure forces and to undergo an evasive movement relative to the ski body (1). The ski body (1) is further provided with support elements (17) that counteract the evasive movement of the upper sheet element (11) by exerting a counterforce.
