[origin: WO03064795A1] The invention relates to a lock cylinder comprising a cylinder housing (2) and a cylinder core (6), rotatably mounted in the latter, said core having a key channel (7) for inserting a key (9). Conventionally, the rotational motion of the cylinder core is locked by means of a tumbler element that traverses the rotating joint (F) between the cylinder core (6) and cylinder housing (2). According to the invention, the tumbler element is configured as a locking part that can be shifted from a lock position into a release position in the direction of insertion of the key, said locking part co-operating with a motion transfer member (17) that can be displaced transversally in relation to the direction of insertion of the key, during the shift from the lock position into the release position. The motion transfer member is a pin, which can be brought out of an inactive position that corresponds with the lock position of the locking part into an active position that permits the displacement of the locking part (33) into the release position by the insertion of the key (9).
