Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1470856A1] A stirrer for use in the purification of liquids comprises a rotating stirrer head (2) carrying paddles (4). This is mounted in a bearing (3) and has a coupling (5) for contactless-, inductive- or magnetic drive of the head. The drive side coupling components (6) are mounted in a split case (8) A bolt (15) passing centrally through the bearing and fastens it to the split case to prevent a gap forming due to it moving upwards. An independent claim is included for mounting a stirrer as described above on a tank.
