Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1471542A1] The insulator has an insulated sheet (1) made up of dielectric material with a lower part having a steel rod (3) fixed by a binder (4) with cement base, and a zinc ring (5) in contact with the binder and surrounding the rod. An annular plug (7) made up of an electrically conducting material is arranged between the insulated sheet and the ring in such a manner to make a sealing for preventing a leakage current path in the binder. An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating a suspension insulator.
