[origin: EP1473747A1] A rotary electric component includes a housing having an accommodation portion; a terminal plate having a base, a brush, and a wide folded member; and a rotary member accommodated at the accommodation portion and having an electrically conductive pattern on which the brush slides. The base is buried in the bottom of the housing. The brush is raised from the base in the accommodation portion. The folded member is folded from the base, is in close contact with the bottom of the base at a location other than the location from where the brush is raised from the base, and is disposed under the base. The terminal plate is contained in the housing such that the brush is disposed above the folded member. <IMAGE>
