[origin: WO03068457A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for holding a metallic component to be connected, especially a gas turbine. The inventive method is characterised by the following steps: a metallic component (1) having a surface (2) and at least one working or joint surface (3) is provided; a case (5) comprising a recess which is used to receive the component (1) and has an inner surface (6) is provided; the component (1) is positioned in the case (5) in such a way that its surface (2) is surrounded by the inner surface (6) of the case (5), at a distance, forming a closed volume (8), and the working or joint surface (3) of the component does not face the volume (8); the volume (8) is filled with a foamable material (11); and the material (11) is foamed and cooled, forming a dimensionally stable foam structure. The invention also relates to a method for connecting a metallic component, especially a gas turbine, to another component.
