[origin: WO03062737A1] The invention relates to an armoured vehicle, especially a combat tank, in which an air inlet (2) is provided in a outer wall (1) and a radiator is positioned behind said opening inside the vehicle. In order to produce a ballistic protection device near the air inlet (2), a base plate (5) is arranged inside the vehicle, between the radiator and the air inlet (2), and the intermediate regions between the outer edges of the base plate (5) and the inner edges of the air inlet (2) are closed by means of cover plates (4.2, 4.3). Said base plate (5) comprises an air passage opening in the central region, beneath which the radiator is positioned. A protection plate (7) is provided above the base plate (5), essentially in the plane of the outer wall (1), said protection plate being arranged and dimensioned in such a way that an annular air passage slit is formed between the outer edges of said protective plate and the inner edges of the air inlet (2).
