Abstract (en)
Projectile comprises a segmented bar and a shoe having engaging projections that enable the bar to be propelled axially by the shoe when the projectile is launched. There is an axial clearance between the projections, to allow a limited relative axial displacement of the shoe relative to the bar, while shaped surfaces on the teeth ensure a radial lock between the shoe and bar when the shoe is in its most advanced position, but not when recoiled. The projectile comprises a bar (2) and a shoe (3), typically of aluminum, in a number of segments having engaging tooth-shaped surface projections (D2, D3) that enable the bar to be propelled axially by the shoe when the projectile is launched. There is an axial clearance (J) between the bar and shoe projections, to allow a limited relative axial displacement of the shoe in relation to the bar, while shaped surfaces (11, 12) on the teeth ensure a radial lock between the shoe and bar when the shoe is in its most advanced position, but not when the shoe is recoiled. The projections can be annular or spiral, with conical locking surfaces.

L'invention a pour objet un projectile sous calibré comportant un barreau (2) et un sabot (3) formé de plusieurs segments, le barreau et le sabot comportant des profils coopérant l'un avec l'autre de façon à assurer l'entraînement axial du barreau (2) par le sabot (3) lors du tir du projectile. Ce projectile est caractérisé en ce qu'il y a un jeu axial (J) entre le profil porté par le sabot (3) et celui porté par le barreau (2) de façon à autoriser un déplacement axial relatif limité du sabot par rapport au barreau, des moyens (11,12,16,17) étant prévus assurant un verrouillage radial des segments du sabot (3) par le barreau (2) dans la position la plus avancée du sabot par rapport au barreau, ce verrouillage n'étant plus assuré dans la position la plus reculée du sabot par rapport au barreau. <IMAGE>
