[origin: WO03070407A1] The invention relates to a machine tool for creating boreholes in a workpiece (22), said machine tool comprising a machine frame, a boring tool holder (36) which is arranged on the machine frame (12) and has at least one tool spindle (34), and a workpiece carrier (18) which is arranged on the machine frame, the boring tool holder (36) and the workpiece carrier being displaceable in relation to each other in a direction of displacement X. The aim of the invention is to develop one such machine tool in such a way that it can be easily produced and operated in an advantageous manner. To this end, a longitudinal direction (38) of the at least one tool spindle is oriented transversally in relation to a horizontal plane, and the boring tool holder is arranged on the machine frame in such a way that it can be pivoted in relation to the workpiece carrier, such that inclined boreholes can be created in the workpiece.
