Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03070576A1] The invention relates to a method for packing cigarettes in the form of a block (29), which is optionally surrounded by an inner paper, placed in an outer packaging which is at least partially rounded in the side-wall region and which is non-grooved, consisting of at least one blank (Z1, Z2). Two layers for the outer packaging extending over the entire external periphery of the side-wall region are arranged on top of each other and are longitudinally connected by means of a seam, and bottom and, optionally, top sealing tongue-type elements(6', 6'', or 7', 7'') of the at least one blank are folded over and connected. The entire surfaces of both layers facing each other are connected to each other in a substantially homogeneous connecting pattern, whereby tensions occurring in the rounded wall areas can be substantially avoided.
