The throttle device comprises a drive housing (7) for receiving an adjusting drive that actuates a throttle valve. A cover element (8) can be mounted on the drive housing (7). The cover element (8) is configured in a modular manner and comprises an opening (29) for receiving a sensor module (9), which can be positioned in relation to a mounting location (18) independently of the assembled position of the cover element (8) on the drive housing (7).
