Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1477583A1] Pickling is carried out by spraying pickling fluid (B) in a booth (1), in batch operation, with no nitric acid in the tank (2). Tank and booth are vented together, gases liberated in the booth being returned to the tank. Following pickling, rinse water (C) from a tank (3) is sprayed over the objects in the booth, with gas exchange between booth and tank. Residual gases from rinsing are partly recycled to the rinse water tank, without releasing effluent gases to the surroundings. An independent claim is included for the corresponding plant.
