Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1477731A2] The device has a dish reflector (2) with two focal points and a dipping shaft (4) between the reflector and a lens (3) adjustable into several rotary positions about a rotation axis transverse to the optical axis. The shaft's outer surface (6) has a focal line for each rotary position that produces a light-dark boundary of a light figure. The shaft is an elongated hollow body whose contour and/or focal line is produced by generating an internal pressure. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing a dipping shaft for a headlamp.
