Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03072345A1] Method for producing a multi-ply web (26) of flexible material, such as paper and nonwoven material, by means of gluing the plies. Glue is transferred in subsequent steps to a first web shaped flexible material (1) by means of at least two patterned glue transfer rolls (5; 12), in a pattern corresponding to the pattern of the glue transfer rolls. A second web shaped material 816) is brought in contact with the glue bearing side of said first web shaped material (1) in at least one press nip (18; 23) between at least one patterned lamination roll (19; 22) and an impression roll (9). The at least one lamination roll has a three-dimensional pattern having a shape and configuration so as to apply pressure to the combined first and second web shaped materials substantially only just opposite at least some of the glue bearing areas of the first web shaped material (1), and is driven in registry with the first (5) and/or second (12) glue transfer roll. It is further referred to a multi-ply product produced according to the method.
