[origin: WO03072416A1] The invention relates to a thrust piece unit (1) for rack-steering gears, which is integrated into a housing bore of the steering gear housing (2) of motor vehicles. The aim of the invention is to maintain the pinion and the steering rack in a state of constant engagement. Said unit comprises a cylinder part (3), a piston part (8) and two corresponding chambers (4 and 9) filled with a hydraulic medium. Said chambers are connected to each other by means of a feed valve (15) and a throttle point (14). An overload cut-out device (12, 13) is also integrated into the thrust piece unit (1).
