Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03072645A2] The invention relates to a thermoplastic composition comprising a (meth)acrylic (co)polymer and hollow glass bead particles, or a mixture of hollow glass bead particles and mineral and/or organic compound particles. According to the invention, said light-diffusing particles have an average size of between 0.5 microm and 200 microm, a refraction index which differs from that of the transparent thermoplastic material by at least ± 0.05, and are used in a quantity of 5 ppm to 1000 ppm by weight, in relation to the total composition. The invention also relates to the corresponding formed articles, such as plates for backlighting units.
