Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03071020A1] Device and method to apply quills (23), tinsel or similar, on fabrics in a multi-needle sewing machine (10) suitable to make stitches (19) on continuously fed textile material (11). The multi-needle sewing machine (10) has upper sewing members (12) consisting of at least a needle-bearing bar (13) movable with alternating motion and supporting a plurality of needles (14), and lower sewing members (15), each needle (14) cooperating with a respective sewing thread (16). A feed assembly (71) is selectively driven to supply at least one quill (23) at a time to a positioning assembly (80). The positioning assembly (80) is selectively driven to automatically displace the quill (23) from a first feed position to a second sewing position arranged substantially in correspondence with at least a relative needle (14) of the sewing machine (10).
