Process for monitoring the application thickness of glue (23) on a coating paper strip (2) for rod-like objects of the tobacco-processing industry, especially for monitoring the application thickness of glue in glue images (9) applied in a gluing device (22) onto a coating paper strip, comprises determining the infra-red radiation of a specified section of the coating paper strip, and constructing a temperature profile image (54) of the section from the radiation determined to identify the application thickness of the glue. An independent claim is also included for a device used for monitoring the application thickness of glue on a coating paper strip for rod-like objects of the tobacco-processing industry.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Überwachung der Auftragsstärke von Leim (23) auf einen Belagpapierstreifen (2) für stabförmige Artikel der tabakverarbeitenden Industrie, insbesondere der Auftragsstärke von Leim (23) in von einer Beleimeinrichtung (22) auf einen Belagpapierstreifen (2) für stabförmige Artikel der tabakverarbeitenden Industrie aufgetragenen Leimbildern (9). Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass Infrarotstrahlung des Belagpapierstreifens (2) in einem bestimmten Abschnitt des Belagpapierstreifens (2) erfasst und aus der erfassten Strahlung zum Erkennen der Auftragsstärke des Leims (23) auf dem Belagpapierstreifen (2) ein Temperaturprofilbild (54) des Belagpapierstreifens (2) in dem bestimmten Abschnitt des Belagpapierstreifens (2) erstellt wird. <IMAGE>
