[origin: EP1479604A1] Pedal boat drive comprises at least one pedal crank, and a drive branch for transferring drive energy produced by the pedal crank to a propulsion device (20), e.g. a propeller. The drive branch is provided with a reversing mechanism for reversing the running direction of the propulsion device whilst the pedal crank continues to rotate in the same direction. The pedal boat drive has two parallel disk flywheels (16) arranged on a free-running axle with an intermediate space (17) in between. A removal element (18) connected to the propulsion device in the intermediate space is selectively coupled to one of the opposite-lying inner surfaces (28a, 28b) of the two disk flywheels to transfer the drive energy.
