[origin: EP1479805A2] Sample warping creel machine has a warp drum and a carrier (16) arranged at the front side of the warp drum. The carrier has a rotary drive with at least a thread-guiding element that can be displaced in the axial direction of the warp drum with the aid of an axial drive. An angular measurement device (30-32) measures the angular position (alpha ) of the carrier and is connected to a control unit (17) that controls the axial drive (15) dependent on the angular position of the carrier.
