[origin: WO03074322A1] The invention relates to a vehicle seat (1) that comprises an automatically displaceable lower leg support (3). Said lower leg support can be displaced between a stowaway position and a position of use by means of an automatic drive. In order to achieve a compact construction of the vehicle seat and a high security from incorrect operation, the lower leg support (3) comprises a sensor (6, 61, 62) that is linked with a control device (52) of the drive (5). Said sensor (6) is adapted to detect obstacles.
