[origin: WO03074335A1] The invention relates to a safety device for a motor vehicle with the aim of implementing a safety function such as one that might be required particularly in the event of an accident. The safety device comprises at least one bearing part (4) provided with at least one boring (11). In addition, at least one bolt (2) is provided, which is coaxially inserted into this boring (11) whereby joining the bearing part (4) to a connecting part (1). The inventive safety device also contains means for removing a bearing element or a bolt (2), particularly a pedal bolt of the motor vehicle or detaching the connecting part (1) from the bearing part (4). These means form a mechanism (8) that can be activated in the event of an accident. This mechanism is accommodated inside a housing (6) joined to the bearing part (4), and is joined to the bolt (2) in the axial extension of the bolt axis (12).
