[origin: WO03072897A1] Doors for domestic appliances, in particular doors for cooking appliances, which are mounted so that they can pivot about an articulation axis (12, 65), are known per se. Doors of this type have a door handle (17), which can be pivoted about a door-handle axis (19) that runs parallel to the articulation axis (12, 65) and is connected to at least one control mechanism (38). When the door (5) is pivoted in a first pivoting direction, the control mechanism (38) pivots the door handle (17) in a second pivoting direction that is opposite to the first. According to the invention, to obtain a reliable actuation of the door handle, a protective device (39, 151, 161) is allocated to the control mechanism (38), said device preventing the pivoting motion of the door handle (17), during the actuation of the latter (17), from being transmitted to the control mechanism (38).
