[origin: WO03073004A1] Known household devices comprise useful storage volume (3) which can be closed by a door (5) which is pivotably mounted around a horizontal articulated axis (65) and a storage compartment (61). In the storage compartment (61), the door (5) can be displaced by means of a guiding system (58) comprising at least one guiding element (59) associated with the door (5), said guiding element being guided in a slide track (63) associated with the household device. In order to produce an ergonomically economical opening and closing movement of the door, the door (5) is provided with at least one counterweight arrangement (94) which, during displacement of the door (5), exerts a compensating force on the door (5) acting against the weight of the door (5).
