Abstract (en)

A bag of plastic material for vacuum preservation of foodstuffs comprises two rectangular walls (12, 14) joined together along three sides (30, 32, 34). The width of one of the walls (12) is larger than the width (L) of the other wall (14) by a predetermined quantity, preferably about 5%.

The bag has two rectangular walls (12, 14) joined together along their edges on longitudinal welds (30, 34) and transverse weld (32). Each wall made of many-layered plastic material has an inner polyamide layer and a material sandwiched between two outer layers of polyethylene. Width of the wall (12) across side welds (30, 34) exceeds width (L) of the wall (14) by a predetermined quantity of about 5 percent. An independent claim is also included for a process for mass-producing bags.
