Abstract (en)

[origin: WO03066477A1] A tea bag package comprising a triangular envelope (1) having first and second opposite flaps (3; 4) connected to each other along first and second sides (8; 9) of the triangle but not along the third side (7) and furthermore having a third flap (5) connected at the third side (7) to the first flap (3) and via a folding line (7') foldable between a first position in which the third side (7) is open and a second position in which the third side (7) is closed so that the three flaps (3; 4; 5) together define a closed chamber. The tea bag package furthermore comprises a tea bag (2) disposed in the chamber and a string (18) attached to a corner of this tea bag (2) and running through a slit or eye (21) in the point in which the two closed sides (8; 9) join each other. The string has a length allowing the tea bag (2) to exit the envelope (1) via the third side (7) when the third flap (5) is in first position. The free end of the string (18) is anchored in an anchor tab (13) connected to one of the closed sides on the first flap via a perforated folding line (12) extending up to or nearly up to the point in which the closed sides (8; 9) of the triangle join each other. The anchor tab (13) is folded in over the second flap (2) and detachably joined to a section on this by means of a weak adhesive (20). The tea bag is easy and convenient to use and does not soil the surroundings after use.
