Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03074849A1] The invention relates to an air-cooled frontal radiator module (20) for a motor vehicle comprising a combustion engine comprising one or several radiator networks (24). Said radiator networks (24) are provided with pipes (25) and act as heat exchangers (21, 22, 23). A cooling medium (LM) respectively flows through said cooling networks and cooling air (LA) blows against them from the outside. One or more vehicle elements (13) are arranged in the path of the cooling air (LA) to the frontal radiator module (20). Additionally, one or more fans (30) are provided with drives (31). The pipes of at least one of the radiator networks (24) are recessed in the region behind the vehicle elements (13) in the path of the cooling air (LA). The drive (31) of the fan(s) (30) protrudes into, preferably, at least one of the radiator networks (24). In a preferred embodiment, the fan drive (31) is arranged in an area which is sheltered from the wind by the bumper (13).
