[origin: WO03076781A1] The invention relates to a power generating system, for example, a power plant provided for generating power, in which a secondary engine (1a, 1b, 1c, 2) is connected downstream from an open gas turbine group (100) provided for utilizing waste heat of the waste gases (107). The secondary engine is an engine that operates with a gaseous process fluid in a closed circuit, for example, it is a closed gas turbine group provided with a compressor (1a, 1b, 1c), means for heating the compressed gas (6), which utilize the waste heat of the waste gas (107) produced by the primary gas turbine group (100), a turbine (2), and with at least one heat sink (13). In one embodiment of the invention, intermediate coolers (41, 42) are used during the compression process. A variable circuit filling of the secondary engine enables a superior versatility with regard to the utilization of vastly different available waste heat supplies.
