[origin: WO03078295A1] A rotating cap opener (11) is provided with three clamping jaws (15, 17, 19) each of which is disposed on a carrier part (45) which is arranged on a base part (23) in such a way that it is radially displaceable. A rotatable spiral guide (29), which cooperates with the carrier part (45), is used to move the clamping jaws (15, 17, 19) towards each other into an inner position (50) and away from each other into an outer position (60). As a result, covers of different radii can be grasped and opened due to a handle (13) having an enlarged lever arm.
