Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2386489A] A system is disclosed which enables feedback to be provided to two participants in a virtual studio. An image is rendered from the perspective of the relevant participant and projected so as to be visible to the participant but keyed out of the camera image of the studio by a keying process. The actor is aided by providing an indication of the presence of objects in the background image which is to be keyed with the image of himself. To achieve this, an image from the actors viewpoint is projected into the studio environment so that the actor can see where the virtual objects are. A claimed embodiment details how a portion of the projected image may be masked based on the presence of objects in the studio so that projection onto these objects is reduced. Another embodiment provides for a situation where different images are projected for different actors wherein these images may be multiplexed. The actors are the provided with de-multiplexing means in order to see the image intended for them to view.
