The cutting cylinder (1) for the cross cutting of a web of printed material in a rotary press has four blades (10) installed on the cylinder's circumference, dividing the circumferential length into four sections. The blades may be distributed over the circumference in such a way that the circumferential lengths are equal for a straight run production, or may be distributed into two longer and two shorter sections for collect-run production. The cutting cylinder is powered by an electric motor connected directly or indirectly to the drive shaft (12).

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Schneidzylinder zum Querschneiden einer Bedruckstoffbahn in einer Rotationsdruckmaschine, der drehbar und antreibbar gelagert ist und am Umfang mit Schneidmessern versehen ist, wobei am Umfang des Schneidzylinders (1) vier Messer (10) angeordnet sind, welche die Umfangslänge in vier Abschnitte teilt. <IMAGE>
