[origin: EP1486624A2] A dwelling house has a wooden frame with an intermediate ceiling and a roof frame with a suitable covering. The ceiling and the roof are both self-supporting structures. The intermediate ceiling has longitudinal and transverse load-bearing beams (6, 7) in a regular array forming a frame. The interval between adjacent parallel beams is such that they will accommodate a staircase. The gap between adjacent beams also receives the ceiling (8) frame.
