[origin: EP1486735A1] A combined hot water and heating system (1) comprising a hot water supply means (10) and a pump (11) for pumping water from the hot water supply means (10) to a first water circuit (2; 3) and a second water circuit (2; 3). The supply of hot water to the first and second circuits (2; 3) is regulated by at least one valve means (H; HW). The system (1) further comprises control means (8), which comprises a timer operable to set predetermined heat dissipation periods. The control means (8) is operable when the hot water supply means (10) is in operation and during the heat dissipation periods to cause at least one valve (H; HW) to prevent supply of hot water from the hot water supply means (10) to at least one of said first and second water circuits (2; 3). <IMAGE>
