Abstract (en)
[origin: WO03081741A1] The invention relates to a trip device for an electrical power breaker (LS), for tripping on a short-circuit and embodied as an analogue electrical circuit. The circuit components and devices necessary for tripping on a short circuit form a discrete module, completely independent of other trip devices on the power breaker (LS). A direct current is provided by transformers (6, 7, 8) together with rectifiers (9, 10, 11) which flows through a power semiconductor (12) switched to conduct in the normal operating state of the power breaker (LS). A measurement and control circuit (13) is controlled by means of a voltage generated across a measuring resistance (14) through which the direct current flows and closes the power semiconductor (12) when a threshold value is exceeded. The current is then commutated from the power semiconductor (12) to the trip magnet (5) which opens the switch contacts (1, 2 and 3) with a particularly small delay.
